January In Review
Well, I said I was going to try and do a monthly review, so at least I'm actually doing it for the first month. Hopefully I will keep it, but no promises. :)
Highlights:
New Years (Jan. 1st): I started the new year off at Grandma Rae's house with some of the family. Katie and I stayed in Vernal until the 3rd and then came home so I could try to get some stuff done before school started.
School started (Jan. 7th): Christmas break was not nearly long enough, but I guess there's nothing I can do to change that. I'm back to the grind of classes, labs, and homework. I'm only taking 10 semester hours this semester (with the hopes of having some extra time to get a part time job). I'm taking Physics for Scientists and Engineers 2, and Principles of Chemistry 2.
Cousins Weekend (Jan. 11th-13th): Julie, Katie and I all met up at Cassie's house and spent the weekend talking and eating way too much. We also went bowling and to Laughing Stock (our favorite local improv show). If you want to hear more about this fun weekend see Cassies Blog post about it.
Scrapbooking: I was asked by April Oaks, owner of Digital Scrapbook Memories, to make some layouts for her new CD that is coming out in a few weeks. I received the kits from the new CD for free in exchange for my layouts. She announced the CD a couple of days ago, so now I'm at liberty to show off my layouts. She also asked me to create some layouts for her Beginner Series. Check out my 8 new layouts on my scrapbooking blog (it will be updated soon if it isn't already). I was very excited and honored to be asked to create layouts that will be used to display her products.
Books read/listened to on my new iPod:
No Graves As Yet by Anne Perry
The Good Guy by Dean Koontz
Something Rotten by Jasper Fforde
Someday maybe I'll update my book blog and you can read my review of these. It's not going to be today though, so if you're really dying to know, tough. :)
New movies watched:
none
Places visited: (I may leave this category off in the future because Vernal and SLC will probably be the only two places most months)
Vernal
Salt Lake City

Good month! Interesting how you guys seem to make an ordinary winter month into something extraordinary with a little gathering or two. Good on ya.
I like reading about what you're up to.
Neat to see your marvelous scrapbooking skills being recognized and shared.
Good for you and thanks for reminding me to do this, too.
Love reading your recap. That's very exciting about getting to show off your scrapbooking skills and getting some free software.
Hope your semester goes good with those two hard classes.
great post. But you did watch She's the Man for the first time. So you did see one new movie at least. :P
I can imagine that She's the Man isn't worth posting about. (: Just kidding Katie.
So January was a fun month but I definitely haven't been adhering to my resolutions like I wanted to. I'll try again next month.
I guess what I meant by "New Movies Watched" was that the movie is new...not that I hadn't seen it before. Maybe next month I'll do what mom did and put "movies watched in the theater" and if I can remember them, "movies watched at home"
I think it's really cool that you were asked to create layouts for April! I'll try to check them out on your other blog!
Someday you'll be able to put my city on your places visited within the month! Can't wait!
You had a much more exciting month than I did. Sad, isn't it?
Aly, I just gave you an award.
